Object Attachments

Overview

Object attachments or object links are files, ToDos or URLs that have been specifically linked to a particular model object. They can provide specific instructions or important information related to that object.

Objects can have 3 attachment types:

  1. ToDos

  2. Files (Project Files and Device Photos)

  3. URLs

View Object Attachments

If an object has an attachment, you will see the attachment icon placed in the center of the object.

Clicking on the icon will take you to the Attachment list page. The Attachment List page is separated into three tabs to view the files, ToDos and URLs.

To view attachments

  1. Open a model in Trimble Connect for Mobile.

  2. Click the attachment icon.

  3. The Attachment List page will open.

Adding Object Attachments

Objects can be linked to files, ToDos, and URLs by selecting the object.

To add attachments

  1. Open a model in Trimble Connect for Mobile.

  2. Select the object(s) you want to add an attachment to.

  3. The selection toolbar will display.

  4. Click Add attachment from the selection toolbar.

  5. Choose the attachment type you want to add.

Attachment Types

Camera: Allows you to take a photo and then attach it to the model

Gallery: Allows you to pick a photo from your device photo gallery

URL: Allows you to add a custom web link

Data: Allows you to add a file stored in your Connect project

ToDo: Allows you to create a new ToDo with the object(s) linked

Remove Attachments

Only the user who added the attachment, or the Project Admin, can remove an attachment in Trimble Connect for Mobile's 3D Viewer.

To remove attachments

  1. Click on the attachment icon.

  2. The Attachment list page will open.

  3. Click the ✖ next to the attachment.

  4. The attachment will be removed.


Change Object Attachment Visibility

Links icons in 3D can be shown/hidden from by going into the Model Display Settings and checking/unchecking the Object links option.
